A digital workshop was organized by the Palestinian Center for Policy Research and Strategic Studies (Masarat) to discuss the recommendations of sectoral policy papers on national, health, economic and legal sectors to support the strengthening Palestinian resilience during the Covid-19 pandemic. The workshop had more than 50 participants from researchers, academics and representatives of civil society, including women and youth.
The participants discussed different sectoral policies in support of strengthening Palestinian resilience in light of the Covid-19 pandemic, and the challenges facing the Palestinian cause, especially after Trump's vision was presented and the Israeli government announced its intention to annex parts of the West Bank.
In the workshop, a recommendation was made to form a national team from the government, the private sector and civil society to manage the current Covid-19 crisis and to ensure the implementation of preventive measures.
The workshop touched on the necessity of restructuring the Palestinian economy for achieving economic separation from the occupation through developing economic policies to confront the current crisis by supporting the sectors of agriculture, industry and small enterprises. In addition, it was discussed that it is important to activate the role of civil society in a way that contributes to strengthening the steadfastness of citizens and respecting the Basic Law, the judiciary, human rights and freedoms.
The dialogue workshop was moderated by Hani Al-Masri, Director General of the Masarat Center.
